Antique Carrara Caduceus Greek Marble Surround

Antique Carrara Marble Surround with Caduceus motifs which has its origins dating back to an astrological cryptogram, and is linked to Hermes, a Greek god of mythology. The centre piece is though to be a young Hermes. The side panels being decorated with flowers and ribbons. A fine rare piece.
